Why?
Because Sirius presents a pro truckdriver station controlled by corporate sponsors yet when asked to put on a 24 hour/7 day a week union channel, they said that topic occassionslly was covered and not necessary. Sirius has numerous pro business channels on, in which unions get a straw man debate, or weak caller debate against a corporate paid host. Show me in all media where there is one national union newspaper, radio station, tv/cable station. It is as if they do not exist.
I thought Constitution lovers believed in checks & balances against the abuse of power and a 24/7 Sirius Union Channel would provide that. Debates between the 24/7 union shows and the Corporate business shows would be fantastic, illuminating and good for ratings. Sirius refused to do this 24/7 union channel. Maybe because some unions are viewed as bad. Yet there are corporations viewed as bad and they get lots of airtime.
Maybe Sirius believes unions are bad for the economy. Did unions destroy 30 trillion dollars of world wealth like the executive bankers did? Maybe Sirius thinks all unions are dishonest and mismanage their funds? Like the director of Global Crossing, Joseph Clayton, who let his corporation lose millions for investors and were part of the fraudulent corporate accounting and investor scams that mismanaged investor money. Was this director villified or told he was incompetent and never given another chance to improve? Absolutely not, Joseph Clayton, is now chairman of the board of SiriusXm radio and going bust again, getting a bailout by Liberty Media!
When executives fail, even defraud people of money, they quietly get support from business and media and get more opportunities. Unions only get vilified. Unions like the Teamsters have been known to buy stocks in many companies and hold boards more accountable on treatment of workers.
My boss, Jerry Moyse had all kind of weird money transactions between 4 or5 companies he owned which were very suspicious looking. I myself thought I saw unfavorable share price increases & falls around the time employees bought stock for their Swift stock buying plans. I sent a letter to the secretary, Attorney General of NY about my suspicions. Mr. Moyse was not caught on that but was caught on insider trading making $600,000 illegally. That was in just 1 day w/one trade! Supposedly that was the 1st time he ever did it. The only reason he didn’t go to jail, he cooperated. Swift’s founder did have to resign & step sown from his position at swift transportation. Later he got funding & bought back all the shares.
Since we don’t have a union, I wonder how much swift employees are paying for all that money it took to buyback the shares in lower pay etc.
Also Mr Moyse’ s Wolverine sports club is in trouble. Because of no union, are swift employees subsidizing sports millionaires with low pay? Talk about taxpayer subsidies. I am sure low & middle class taxpayers are subsidizing some of Mr Moyse’s sports complexes he uses.
If we did have a Sirius 24/7 Union Channel, debate could spur improvements in both labor & corporate institutions resulting in a check & balance on both.
That is why I am promoting a boycott of Sirius satellite radio, until they get a 24/7 union channel.

hello Being a 25+ year over the road veteran, i now leased to mercer transportation. louisville. I am behind your efforts 110% and have been seeking a way to form some type of a grass roots union. We truck drivers and owners need to seek our fair level of compensation for our large efforts that we give every day, and we have to work every day just to make a scratch living. I await your lead. With this new union bill could truck drivers go to say (mercer) and form a union. thanks Jody Alston
